Bob (Robert) Ramsay Harris started Robert Ramsay Cellars in 2005 with one goal in mind: create world class Rhone varietal wines from the unique soils of Washington that are traditional in style and food friendly. Today we are proud to make wines out of the five main Rhone red varietals (and a couple of Rhone white varietals) as well as blends inspired by the terroir and the winemakers that have been stewarding these grapes for hundreds of years.
We pursue non invasive winemaking practices, using little to no new oak, large format barrels, and honoring the terroir and microclimate that produces the fruit.
We strive to make food friendly wines with balance, finesse, and integrity showing off not only fruit flavors, but the wonderful aromas and flavors of earth and spice inherent in the Rhone varietal grapes.
